On Tuesday August 5, as a member of the Victorian Homelessness Network (VHN), WHA agencies joined other Homelessness Local Area Support Networks (LASNs) from across the state and the Council to Homeless Persons (CHP), united in the cry that “Housing Ends Homelessness.” Simultaneously across the state, we covered local landmarks with 6,000 origami houses to represent the number of extra houses Victoria needs each year for the next 10 years to end homelessness. The origami houses were folded by homelessness services workers, consumers, and members of the community.
The peaceful event held at the Horsham post office was attended by local agencies, council members and the community who made donations to agencies to assist those people in the region who are experiencing homelessness.
