About the event

Youth Homelessness Matters Day is commemorated annually on the third Wednesday in April, falling on April 16 this year. This day shines a spotlight on the challenges faced by homeless young people and encourages meaningful conversations to inspire sustainable and innovative solutions to support their needs and aspirations.

Did you know that over 20,000 young Australians aged 12 to 24 experience homelessness on any given night? In the Wimmera many young people have nowhere to sleep tonight.

Alarmingly, more than half of 18-year-olds accessing homelessness services have been impacted by domestic and family violence.

This is why youth homelessness matters. If work together as a community we can make a difference.
